Explore Rowing events continue for 2022. Explore event for up to eight crews using HLRC matched quads will take place during the regatta. The winners will receive regatta medals. Please contact us to register interest.

HLRC reserve the right to close entries early if the limit is reached. We expect the regatta to be well attend, so recommend entering soon to avoid disappointment.

Entries will close before the advertised date if events are oversubscribed.

We divide the regatta into 10 divisions to help clubs and crews plan their day. Crews (including coxes) and equipment (including blades) cannot be used twice in the same or adjacent division. Divisions will run one after another with breaks planned. It is at the discretion of the Chair of the Race Committee if the breaks are used and therefore crews must boat at the advised boating time. 

Events may be banded depending on the number of entries. We may also move crews between categories or apply masters handicaps where applicable. Events not listed on the poster will be fitted in to suit the competition.

The draw will take place at 18:00 on Friday 25th August virtually. Please ensure all entries are paid by 12:00 on Friday 25th August. Any unpaid entries are the time of the draw may be withdrawn, Any entries that withdraw after the deadline or scratch on the day will not be eligible for refund expect in extenuating circumstances.

Event documents, including the safety plan, risk assessment and circulation plan, will be published on the regatta website ( and emailed to clubs.

Competitors must come prepared for all weather types. Competitors will be required to wade in and must wear appropriate footwear.

Competitors must carry proof of their British Rowing membership on the day as they may be required to produce whilst competing and will be required to collect medals. Competitors are reminded that the British Rowing membership is only valid for UK residents who are resident in this country for more than six months in a year.

As a local rule, backstays on the most forward port and starboard rigger are required (as per RowSafe Guidance 7.1), expect in single sculls.

The regatta is held under the British Rowing Rules of Racing. We encourage competitors familiarise themselves with the rules.
